Mini Sausage Piggies in Croissant Dough

Description

Pre-cooked cocktail sausages wrapped in croissant dough and baked until golden for a simple party appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated can of croissant dough (12 croissants)
  • 24 pre-cooked cocktail sausages
  • 1?2 eggs, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the croissant dough package, usually around 350?F (175?C).
  2. Open the can of croissant dough and unroll it.
  3. Cut along the perforated lines of the dough triangles to make 24 smaller triangles.
  4. Place a sausage at the wide end of a small triangle and roll the dough around the sausage; repeat with remaining sausages and dough.
  5. Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  6. Beat the eggs in a small bowl and brush each wrapped sausage with the egg wash.
  7. Sprinkle poppy seeds over the top of the wrapped sausages.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15?18 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving with your choice of dipping sauces.
